As MAYER HOTEL ISTANBUL, we adopt sustainability principles in line with our commitment to be a company that is sensitive to the environment and society. In order to fulfill this commitment, we develop and implement policies in various areas.

SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM POLICY

Our company develops policies in line with sustainable tourism criteria and implements these policies. We aim to effectively manage the use of energy and natural resources, minimize environmental impacts and increase local employment..

-Purchasing

Our purchasing policy includes policies aimed at local, environmentally sensitive, fair trade and efficient purchasing. We hold meetings with our suppliers at regular intervals. We check their sustainability-related certificates, information and documents.

Local purchasing: Our hotel prioritizes local suppliers when purchasing goods and services, provided that they are of good quality and reasonably priced. For this reason, it regularly inspects its suppliers, updates its supplier list and informs its suppliers. The proportion of goods and services purchased from the local community is measured.

Environmentally friendly purchasing: Our hotel follows an environmentally friendly purchasing policy, and places emphasis on efficient purchasing, energy saving and water saving in order to reduce food and solid waste.

 

For wood, fish, paper and other foods, environmentally certified or traceable products are preferred. Threatened species and species prohibited for sale (fish, trees, plants, game, etc.) are not purchased or used in our hotel.

 

Efficient purchasing: Our purchasing policy prefers reusable, returnable and recycled goods.

Our hotel also prioritizes bulk purchasing and bulk product purchases. In this way, fewer shipments are made to our hotel and less greenhouse gas emissions are produced.

Our main priority and preference is to avoid unnecessary and excessive plastic, nylon, paper, glass and wooden packaging in the products arriving at our hotel.

Disposable products and unnecessary packaging (especially plastic) are avoided in the purchase of consumables and toiletries. The purchase and use of consumables and disposable products are monitored and managed.

 

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION POLICY

We aim to meet demands on time and completely by prioritizing customer satisfaction. At the same time, we aim to provide a transparent and reliable service by protecting customer privacy. We continue our determination to ensure continuous improvement, to give importance to personnel training and to provide the necessary resources to increase customer satisfaction.

CULTURAL HERITAGE PROTECTION AND PRESENTATION POLICY

Our business attaches great importance to the protection and presentation of cultural heritage. By introducing cultural heritage in our events, we aim to protect local cultural heritage and encourage the society to take ownership of this heritage. In addition, we provide support to our employees by creating awareness and organizing trainings on this subject. Ensuring the sharing of the cultural heritage inventory and increasing local employment are also among our priorities.

CHILDREN'S RIGHTS PROTECTION POLICY

Our business takes various measures to protect children's rights and prevent abuse. We develop policies to ensure that children feel safe and protected in hotel areas. We train our employees to prevent child abuse and ensure that they intervene immediately in suspicious situations. We also aim to fulfill our social responsibility by providing environments and opportunities that support the development of children.

 

ABUSE AND HARASSMENT PREVENTION POLICY

Our business acts resolutely to prevent abuse and harassment. We aim to prevent abuse and harassment by educating our staff and creating awareness, informing our guests about the rules of conduct and taking the necessary precautions. When suspicious situations are observed regarding children, we first inform the hotel management and take the necessary steps
